Once upon a time, somewhere in Fatimid Cairo, during the rule of the Ottoman Empire, there was a poor, kind and unfortunate man, He was famous for his hospitality generosity and most importantly his legendary cooking.
His home welcomed his friends and family at all times, despite his humble status. People talked a lot about his magnanimous nature and he was known as “the master”. Al-Sayyed Abou el Sid.
Abou el Sid was famous for his exquisite Egyptian meals that had various delicacies such as Foul with Tahina Sauce, Koshari, Stuffed Pigeon with Rice, Molokheya with Rabbits.
The Ottomans were a great influence to him and he soon became very well known for his exceptional cuisine. His origins were ambiguous; some believe he was from the East and others thought he was from the West. It was later discovered that he was from Cairo. Egypts geographical location surrounded by countries such as Palestine, Lebanon and Syria, has led to a transfusion of ideas, people and culture directly influencing his cuisine. Al Sayyed Abou el Sid became so famous that his reputation reached the Sultan’s palace.
Abou el Sid lived his days in sorrow and loneliness. All he could think of were his happy days in his home amongst his family and friends. He begged the Sultan again to let him go. The cost of his freedom was to unveil and share the secrets of his cuisine. Abou el Sid refused, and with a lot of struggle, he eventually escaped, compiled his recipes in a book and hid it in a safe place.
Centuries later, Abou el Sid’s book was found, and turned into a source of inspiration for an authentic Egyptian restaurant named after “the master”, Abou el Sid. This book is a commemoration of Abou el Sid’s work presenting its readers with genuine and authentic Egyptian cuisine.

Since 2006, the Mori Sushi Company has, in just over four years, pioneered and dominated the sushi scene in Egypt securing the position at the top of the market. Today Mori Sushi owns thirteen restaurants, one of which is summer seasonal and four of which feature an innovative Grill Menu, offering an even larger variety to its guests and ensuring a leading position in the competitive market.
Built on international standards, trends and a fresh young approach to operating a business, Mori Sushi gives Cairo dining scene a new flavor by truly mastering the art of Japanese cuisine.
Having said that, and with 2 new restaurant concept divisions on the horizon; we are confident that we will continue to take advantage of the current market expansion and growing economy of the country.
Creating an Eco- Friendly Operation
In addition to giving back to the community through charities, we also stay aware of the environmental impact of our operations, products and services. We move closer to creating an eco-friendlier business by implementing recycling programs, while raising health and environmental awareness through our menu tidbits and food choices.
Starting with just one restaurant, we were able to, in little over a month, open another smaller restaurant addition in the Sequoia complex of Zamalek. During the next year we have introduced to the market another two restaurants in the key locations of the city. The concept was so well received that by 2010 Mori Sushi opened three more restaurants in prime locations of Cairo, a restaurant in one of the most exclusive towns of the coastal region on Red Sea and three seasonal summer locations.
During 2011 alone we were able to open three more locations in leading areas of uptown Cairo, and in 2012 two additional restaurants in Giza area of Cairo and Alexandria city, the north coast of Egypt. To improve our availability to our guests and to further increase our market segment, we strategically position ourselves in the upper class family housing developments as well as other vital areas of the City.
Mori sushi has brought and continues to bring fresh new ideas to the market. Our innovative business approach and our passion have lead to an average annual growth of 177%, for the last 4 years.
We anticipate the same performance from our newest concepts.
As a high school student working at a local pizza pub in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Papa John`s founder John Schnatter realized that there was something missing from national pizza chains: a superior-quality traditional pizza delivered to the customer`s door. His dream was to one day open a pizza restaurant that would fill that void.
In 1984, Papa John Schnatter knocked out a broom closet located in the back of his father`s tavern (Mick`s Lounge), sold his prized 1972 Z28 Camaro, purchased $1,600 worth of used restaurant equipment, and began selling his pizzas to the tavern`s customers.
The customers loved the pizza so much that John was able to expand by moving into adjoining space eventually leading to the opening of the Today, there are approximately 3,000 Papa John`s restaurants operating in 49 states and 29 international markets.
More importantly, Papa John`s remains committed to its heritage of making a superior-quality, traditional pizza.
